I think Yahoo allows you to have up to 3 teams. I know just having one team can take up some time thouigh. If you know any LSU fans that are interested pass the word along.

Sure, right after I finish shoving these 10 razor blades under my finger nails.

My only thought about pro baseball and pro basketball for that matter:

If they were playing or practicing in my backyard I wouldn't go out to watch.

why is everyone so down on pro Basketball and Baseball. Granted I don't watch as Much Pro Basketball as I used to watch. Mainly because I hate ESPNs announcers especially Walton and Tolbert. But I still Watch Pro Baseball. I only Miss Braves games when the come on SportsSouth or have an off day. But on TBS I don't miss a game unless I am not home. I hope the Braves Do well this year, But I think there Dynasty is about to come to A End...I also hope My other team My Beloved Cubbies does well too Maybe with Dusty Baker they can get back to the playoff's.

My problems with these 2 pro sports:

    1) Pro Baseball

What is suppose to be america's past time is so over run with greed it makes me sick. Greed got the World Series canceled.....shows just how much the players give a crap about winning. Other things that eat at me.......A-Rod making what +$40 million a year is ridiculous; performance vs pay don't equal out....every year you see the lists of the highest paid players by position along with their stats...they don't come close to matching up.

    2) Pro Basketball

Again greed over-runneth. Didn't the season get cancelled a few years back (or was it almost canceled). There is no such thing as defense, offense or anything......looks like nothing more than a pick-up game night-in-and-out. Whistles for walking, double-dribble, etc don't exist.

I still cling to pro football a little but I think I would hate it as much if I was a little older when they had the strike many years ago. At least they have the sense to install salary caps to create some parity in the league.

Cancelling seasons shows how little respect or interest the players have for their respective games and proves it's all about the money. Here's a football one for ya.......Herschell Walker going to the USFL out of college.....what?....a 1st year league with little or no chance of surviving and he goes their?.......all about the money....cha-ching.

NBA didn't have a season canceled but it was a shortened schedule I beleive. I think it was die to an owners lockout. This was in the mid to late 90's I think.

Here's another football story for you, Rocket Ismail goes to the CFL as opposed to the NFL for the fatter paycheck because the CFL needed a Marque Player but they are still struggling against the NFL.

Who would you rather have making the money? The players or the fat cat owners. Professional players make so much money because their leagues are generating enough revenue to pay them. I sure wouldn't be happy if I were working for minumum wage (while doing a job that only .1% of the population can do) and the owner of the business was making millions. If someone's willing to pay them that kind of money, I say more power to them.

Sorry for continuing to get away from thread

Everybody's certainly entitled to their own opinions and I agree that there is something a little more special about college sports than professional, but.....

    1. MLB Baseball
I guess I like it so much because there is little else going on during the summer months. The only team I can watch on TV (for an entire game) is the Astros and attending a game after a long work week at Minute Maid Park (Enron) is so much more enjoyable than the Astrodome was. There is a lot of greed and stuff that needs to be fixed but baseball is still a pure game. Of course, the Astros choke every September and I usually don't pay much attention to the rest of the playoffs once football starts.

    2. NBA Basketball
I freakin love NBA basketball. There are some punks out there but KG, Duncan, TMac, Shaq, Yao, Stevie Franchise, Dirk, Nash, Finley, Kidd, Webber, Vlade, Peja, P. Pierce all seem like good guys. Other talent like Kobe and AI are still fun to watch perform even if you don't like them. There is so much talent and I'm amazed at how good those guys are. The season is probably too long and so are the playoffs but I never get tired of NBA playoff basketball. I think I like too many teams. I'm pulling for Jordan and the Wizards, Nets, Rockets, Lakers, Kings, Mavs. I still hate the Jazz but you have to respect those guys. There is still some travelling going on but I like the rule changes. As far as the superstars go, I think 80% of them are mostly down to earth guys and is the reason why the league is still doing well. I still can't stand Bill Walton but he says some funny things every once in awhile. At least he makes fun of himself a lot. Also, Lakers/Kings games are always entertaining. Rockets/Lakers has potential also.

Getting back to the intent of this thread, I've never been involved in a fantasy league but would like to try. Any where I can get some start up info?

Not a big fan of Pro Basketball and , though I love baseball, they would have lost me forever if they had gone out last year. I've been a Yankee fan since 1958 and always will be.
