Don't know if your joking or not but... that wouldn't be such a stretch. Miles told Ryan Perrilloux he'd like to bring in a coach who's got an NFL background to be the QB coach. Well, Crowton is a high brilliant offensive guy who was an NFL Offensive Coordinator with the Bears and coached a NFL starting QB in Tim Rattay with the SF 49ers, while he was at Tech. Also one of the asst. coaches on Miles' staff at OSU was an asst. to Crowton at La. Tech. Be very interesting to see a Gary Crowton/Les Miles offense employed in Tiger Stadium. With the RBs and WRs the Tigers have it would be fun to watch I believe. :tigerhead
If this is true, he will be a good one. He's known for a running a wide open, innovative attack. I just hope he doesn't forget about our stable of running backs if he's hired.
This could be the innovativeness that we need in our offense. I will guarantee one thing, we will throw over the middle more this coming year than in Saban's entire tenure here.
Mike Scarborough just confirmed this on Buddy Songy's show. Well, he confirmed that Gary Crowton has been interviewed. He also says that Jimbo Fisher is going to NC State.
I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope.
.... Defensive caused the trainwreck at BYU. Crowton was a very good head coach at La Tech. As OC he will not be in on what happens on the defensive side of the ball. Crowton. That could make for some very good football. Anybody here remember what happen at Florida when the Wild SOS offense got a hold of a very good defense(Stoops)? With LSU's defense staying on top this could be a very good thing.
