    He's in officially

Its true as reported in the News Star in Monroe. Coach Don Shows said he committed to Saban on the phone last night.

In case anyone is having trouble accessing that web page (it kept killing my Internet Explorer browser every time I tried to access it), here is the short article:

West Monroe standout linebacker Luke Sanders has verbally committed to attend LSU.

“Luke committed over the phone last night,” Rebels coach Don Shows told The News-Star this morning. “Coach (Nick) Saban called and Luke committed to him then.”

Sanders is one of Louisiana’s most highly decorated prep players, having been named Defensive MVP by the Louisiana Sportswriters Association, the Louisiana High School Coaches Association and The News-Star.

The 6-4, 228-pounder also earned that same honor in district 2-5A.

Updated LSU's list of commitments, but not the point value as of yet.

Sanders plus Doucet's commitment tomorrow will vault LSU into first place again ahead of USC (that assumes USC does not sign anyone by tomorrow of course)

He already committed a while back, but he is only a soft verbal. There is a potential we could lose this guy to Miami FL or Oklahoma State.

USC has signed 5 five-star players to our 1 and are in the lead at the moment.

Doucet would be a big boost, but we need a couple more if we are going to pass USC for #1 again.
