That is badass. Wish I could've seen him play in person. I envy some of you older guys.

Only vaguely remember him at LSU, but saw him in person several times with the Jazz.

I remember his freshman year playing in the cow place. Then freshman didn't play varsity ball. They played before the varsity team. A friend from Gulf States Utilities and I would leave after work and go to the games. Best player I have ever seen. His passes were simply incredible. There were times that his team mates on the receiving end of the passes got hit with the ball not thinking it was coming. He, I think is still the leading scorer in college basketball. What would he have scored had there been a three point shot in his time. A lot of his shots came from three point range. There will never ever be another Pistol Pete. His time here ended way too soon.

Dale Brown went back an charted Pete's scoring, if they would have had a 3 pt line, he would have avg 57 ppg.

As for the GSU, know a ton of workers from there.

If it weren't for the Pistol it might had been another 10-15 years before the SEC embraced basketball. And if not for Pistol Pete and Dale Brown Louisiana wouldn't have had near the interest in bball that we do now. Doubt if we would have ever gotten the Jazz or Hornets.

I grew up thinking man this guy is amazing. My middle school coach had us running drills and watching videos on his play. Pistol Pete formed a good portion of my youth.

P.S. Shooting from the hip is fucking hard to do, and stupid too :)

I remember going to a movie at the Broadmoor theater and Pistol Pete came walking down the aisle spinning the ball on his finger - we were in awe. I was in 7th grade.

That mural is bad ass. I enjoy seeing it everyday. That building looks a ton better. Your friend did really awesome work.
