Actually it was UCLA head coach Ben Howland that said that.

just think what could happen if we ever could put together a game where the bigs stay out of foul trouble and give us their normal 20 and 10, and 15 and 8...

    D-Mich gives us his 16-20...

and Temple and Tasmin knock in 6-10 from 3....

    or even 4-10...

    we'd be untouchable

I find it so amazing that we are so dominant with 3 people who score...

I am not by any means saying we only have 3 good players, b/c lord knows without Temple, we'd be out of here right now... It is just odd to see such an uneven distribution

Well, in the Duke game we had four guys in double figures and the fifth had nine points... These teams we're up against now are good too. ;)

    oh, I know...

basically the whole point I was trying to make in not so many words is that if Temple and Tasmin could stroke it from downtown consistently, we'd be unbeatable without someone getting us in foul trouble

Tigers need to practice free throw shooting this week. As games get tougher, that could spell the difference.

I like this matchup. I don't think UCLA is a very physical team. If the refs continue letting the teams play like they have, I think we have an excellent chance of playing for the National Championship!

I've watched them play several games this year and I've never seen them bang inside. They certainly weren't banging inside last night against Memphis. They always looked more like a finesse team to me.

What worries me are their two excellent guards, Farmer and Afflalo. They also go very deep ... 10 guys who average at least 14 min per game.

This is yet another game in which LSU's backcourt will not compare well with the opposition's on paper. If LSU can stop Redick and all the other perimeter shooters they've stopped in this tourney, then they'll find a way to stop UCLA's guards. Meanwhile, UCLA has never had to play a physical, tough-minded team like LSU yet. Our frontcourt will dominate, and when the game's on the line, we will steal their hearts just like we did to A&M, Duke, and Texas. Memphis fell apart emotionally. The Tigers will be feasting on Bruins! Can't wait till Saturday! GEAUX TIGERS!:geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige

As an outsider, the thing that was most obvious to me was the way both Duke and Texas were intimidated inside, and early, resorting in adjusted shots (even when they didn't need to) and shooting fall-aways, instead of challenging their man.
Obviously, opponents will get some blocked, but to stop challenging is the kiss of death against you guys.
The good news is, if UCLA plays that way, Bill Walton won't be standing up every ten seconds, blocking the view of everyone behind him in the next ten rows.
