Too early to call, but fun to look at. Information is taken from 247 Sports. Prediction percentages are given after the player's name, with at least 11 predictors and as many as 40 for some players. Star rating as well as composite ranking also supplied (in parenthesis). Composite rankings is a scoring system by 24/7 that takes into account all the major recruiting services' rankings.

Here are the 19 players already committed to LSU:

    RB Leonard Fournette.100 % (5 *, #1)
    OLB Clifton Garrett....... 100 % (5 *, #28)
    S Jamal Adams............ 100 % (5*, #31)

    DB Edward Paris...........100 % (4 *, #45)
    QB Brandon Harris....... 100 % (4 *, #76)
    WR Trey Quinn.............. 100 % (4 *, #80)
    OL Garrett Brumfield.... 100 % (4 *, #88)
    DE Davon Godchaux.....100 % (4 *, #148)
    DE Deondre Clark.........100 % (4 *, #150)
    S Devon Voorhies......... 100 % (4 *, #207)
    TE Jacory Washington. 100 % (4 *, #216)
    OL William Clapp...........100 % (4 *, #237)
    ATH Darrel Williams......100 % (4*, #252)
    WR Tony Upchurch........100 % (4 *, #307)
    S John Battle...................100 % (3 *, #393)
    OLB Donny Alexander...100 % (3 *, #437)
    ATH D.J. Chark...............100 % (3 *, #458)
    ATH Russell Gage.........100 % (3*, #764)
    K Cameron Gamble..... 100 % (NR, NR)

Here are the next 13 likeliest high profile targets:

    WR Malachi Dupre........... 94 % (5 *, #17)
    DT Travonte Valentine..... 88 % (4*, #108)
    WR Emanuel Porter..........78 % (3*, 367)

    A potential 8 5*s and 16 4*s class... that's pretty impressive.

It would be the best class all time on paper.

I suspect we'll get 11 of those 16 targets I listed. I think we'll only miss out on Robinson as far as the 5 star players. So we're looking at potentially seven 5 star players, depending on how they move or down the rankings by the end of recruiting season.

The last 4 to 5 spots will be filled with Louisiana kids and one or two surprises that always seem to pop up.

Based on the new rivals points system, if LSU got everybody through Brandon Harris on that list, LSU would end up with 3069 points. If they could somehow pull Robinson as well, then it goes up to a all time record high 3206 points, beating Alabama's record of 3166 from last year. LSU could surpass Alabama's 3166 even without Robinson, but it would take a couple of players getting bumped to a 5th star (very possible) and probably get a high 4 star recruit that isn't on that list.

Well, you are always very optimistic this time of year. But it does look like it will be a good recruiting season.

True, but these are the "experts" predictions. They have never been this high for so many high profile players.

I think I am being realistic in saying we don't get the last 3 on that list and on top of that don't get two more than are heavily in LSU's favor right now.

I think we lose out on 2 out of Noil, Blacknall, McDowell, Godchaux, Willis and Harris.

    I hope it's not Harris.

Dudley's Recruiting and Prognastication Service is predicting Harris to Auburn. Let's see if I belong in the big leagues.

Reason # 1- what he is saying. "I talked with Coach Malzahn on Skype this morning and it was a great talk," Harris said. "At this point, I would say Auburn has a very, very good chance of landing me." from Al.com.

Reason # 2 - Harris is looking for a straight shot to starting. Auburn offers that. LSU don't.

This class certainly has the potential to be an amazing class. One of the greatest ever. That said, I try not to get too caught up in the rankings or anything like that. Plus this years class has a lot of out of state commits. Im leary of early out of state commits. Many feel the pressure to stay close to home as the season ends. Or maybe their home state school hasnt shown them the love just yet. I really hope we keep Fournette and Robinson in state. I feel pretty good about Fournette, not as sure about Robinson. Id hate to lose him to Bama.

Thing with Robinson is he's probably physically ready to play right away, though like any other freshman he'll have a learning curve. With the Bama LT Cyrus Kouandjio possibly leaving for the pros if he has a dominant year, he'll have a great opportunity. You could say the same for our situation with Collins if he blows it up this year, but we have a couple of guys ready to roll behind Collins in Hawkins and Pocic. Bama doesn't really have a guy ready to play LT behind the starter. If he gets hurt they've got problems without a swiss army knife like Barret Jones.

If Cyrus leaves it's good chance Robinson walks right into the LT spot as a true freshman. At LSU, it might take a position switch for him (or someone else) to play right away if he's truly physically ready (which according to my buddy who's seen him plenty including at camps over the past two years, he is). I think we likely lose Robinson, but mainly because of opportunity.

Now my buddy is a Bama fan but only because he loves Saban. He's on St. Aug's staff now and while he personally would like to see Fournette go to Bama, he feels Fournette should, and probably will, go to LSU. Bama is set for the next three years with Yeldon having two more years and the new guy Henry, who was the #1 back last year likely being featured as well. For us, Blue is graduating, and Hill (if he survives his legal troubles) will probably go pro if he plays like he did last year in whatever action he gets. Hilliard might opt to go as well considering his family situation and the likelihood that he'll be at least a top 4-round pick since the money is very similar under the new CBA. That leaves only Magee, who will only have a year left. So realistically, we NEED Fournette AND at least one more back in this class...preferably the kid from John Ehret.
