Is in trouble. No Herron, no Gilmore, no Bain, LSU is trying to get Travonte Valentine to play this season as well. And they played a guy a lot who hasn't played football in awhile in Godchaux. So are Frank Herron, Bain and Gilmore just not good enough? Is Godchaux really just that special? This is kind of unnerving.
Smoke a few dime bags and then wake up the week of the Moo U game. If we don't have players step up by that game then you can start to panic a little.
You're showing your age bud, I'm pretty sure dime bags don't exist anymore. Back to football, you don't think it's a little suspicious Herron and Gilmore don't play but Godchaux does? And LSU is doing whatever they gotta do to get Valentine ready to play?
On Lunch With Les he said Valentine has been cleared by the NCAA but they still have to get approval from the SEC
That's kinda the point. It seems like they are trying hard to get him ready this year. Why? If Herron, Bain, and Gilmore are the real deal, why do you need Valentine this year? Why do you play a true freshman in the meat of the game who didn't even play his senior year?
Every year we have heralded former recruits who get passed up by incoming or second year players. But many of these players end up becoming studs or good players in their own right down the line. As a matter of fact I'd say that more recruits have this happen to them then those who blossom & live up to their potential immediately. There are so many factors that play a part in these young men's development including but not limited to maturity, intelligence, football savey, depth chart, other extremely talented players, injury, etc. As a case in point and likely the best example of this look at the LSU Rb's for the last several years. Look at how many of them had to wait in line for some reason at LSU but are now in the NFL or at least made it to the league. Damn near every one we've had came here with a tremendous amount of fanfare but few have become a Bellcow RB before their junior or senior year. Hill is about the only that did really after sitting out one year. Hope this explanation helps and yes I'm old, from the days of a four finger bag for 10 bucks!
Are they trying too get him ready or just on the field. Les is just replying to the questions of the media and fans over & over again. He hasn't said anything about trying to get him ready to play a game. Now, to ease your thoughts a little bit Les did say that Godchaux reminds him of Glen Dorsey & he did get substantial playing time in his first ever cfb game, even after not playing for a long time due to injury in high school. This just might be the stud you are looking for.
I'm glad we have Davon Godchaux, if he is the next Dorsey then great, I'm still worried that Bain, Herron, and Gilmore are the next Chris Davenports.
Just remember half of our class each year is going to be a sub for much of their career, except for the few that transfer line Davenport.
