Point being that Miles is tuned into his community and Saban has difficulty with the human aspect of being human. You don't really want to get into a comparison of Miles/Saban and what they give back to the university and community. And as to wins, Miles record @ LSU 51-15, Saban's was 48-16. Looks like Miles can win and be tuned into the community. How about that? Saban was tolerated because he helped our program, not because he was well liked.

And Shepard is probably very good at organizing balls...

Over here, Saban is well beyond "well liked." I fear if Miles was Bama's coach and the last few years played out the same, he would have a lot more humanitarian time on his hands.

I fear that you are on the brink of having a lot of non-TF time on your hands.

I think it was the greatest coach in the SEC - the annointed one - the next bear... Is it just me or was it what I've read?

You know I read sh!t like that and truly wonder if the internet bama crowd really believes this or not. Do you really believe bama has arrived and will be throned for good now? Do you really believe Miles will not beat Saban again? And if he does, what does that say about your coach? Just amazes me that it must be an either or situation.

I saw much the same attitude in regards to Auburn and Tubby. Like it or not, Tubbs was a good coach and he handed it to bama plenty of times. Saban is a good coach who has blossomed quickly at bama. Most LSU fans can acknowledge that with ease. But the fact that Miles has exceeded Saban while @ LSU is beyond the ability of a bama fan to acknowledge. Just boggles the mind, and inevitably relegates another one of their posters to my "droolin idiot" file.

And Bama would have the same number of BCS championship(s) in theirs.

I'm suggesting that when Saban was at LSU the hostility and contempt was nothing close to the fever pitch you are experiencing today in Tigerland.

The "either or" you speak about had nothing to do with my little ole comment. Saban is not the villain he is over hear. Saban has verbalized on a number of occasions that Bama fans high regard for him has a lot to do with "winning" and he didn't expect the adulation to continue, if expectations were not met.

That's college football, and frankly at places like Alabama, that is particularly true. The fans know football and wins and loses tell some of the story. The overall product on the field and to some degree off it, tells the rest.

It's not that Miles will never win against Bama or more then hold their own against the SEC, it's more about expectations and the product seen. Both schools will hold these men to that standard.
