1. Positives

    1. 2-0 and coming home to play
    2. Running game is improving
    3. Ridley no fumbles
    4. Defense played well despite being on field alot
    5. Alot of players got to play.
    6. Not alot of players having cramps.
    7. got some turnovers and took advantage
    8. really good dline play.
    9. receivers did a good job catching balls within reach.
    10 1-0 in the SEC.

alot of talent on this team and every game it gains more experience.

    Negatives

    1. QB play needs to improve
    2. cut down on turnovers.
    3. scrap the option and run from the split back or I
    4. better playcalling. dont run jj as much.
    5. throw more short confidence builders and go deep once in awhile
    6. work on russ shephard catching ball

On the hole i liked the second half. Better offense continuity and backs running hard. Still need to improve but better second half attack.

  2. o-line is better, but still needs improvement. Blackwell is missed. Barksdale move to LT, he does not look comfortable there yet. Quick end gets around him.

  3. you hit what I was thinking.

  4. I'm satisfied with our run game and our defense. Special teams is good, but as we saw tonight, its impact can be stopped by a team of equal or lesser talent.

The only problem I had was the passing game. Jefferson looked mediocre, and the receivers dropped too many balls. However, if we run three TD's and kick 2 field goals every game, I will be happy. I doubt that the same will happen with other SEC teams (ie. Florida, Bama) so this issue will have to get addressed very soon.

All in all, it was a sound victory that doesn't warrant much complaining:geauxtige
  5. I like our chances in the next 2 games.

Mississippi St. is the home opener and I think it could factor into the game, especially since I will be there :p.

Either way I don't think they will have enough firepower to score enough to beat us. I think our WR's will be able to put up a good game next week.

West Virginia looked weak against Marshall. Their weak point is right where LSU could thrive, the guards and center positions. Nevis will have a huge game and I don't think that Devine will be able to outrun the LSU defense like he can against slower teams.
  6. One of the more important things I noticed is that we finished this game. This was the downside of the UNC game. 27-3 on the road in the SEC and we scored in the 4th quarter and held the opponent scoreless in the 4th. Great finish.
  7. Biggest surprise to me is that Miles actually took the reins and called all the plays in the 4th quarter. I will be very surprised to see Crowton back next year and him getting complete control of the offense the remainder of the season.

1st 9 plays called were all runs mainly involving Ridley.

    1st drive FG
    2nd short drive TD run
3rd drive setup the pass with the run in the 1st 2 drives and easy completion to Randle for about 16 yards and then the long TD run by Ridley. (Miles preached this in the offseason and I hope to see this more and more)
4th drive run out the clock with freshman Ford and Ware
  8. Are you stating this as a fact? If so... And also, if so...I agree about the last sentence.
  9. ANYONE ELSE THINK SHEP SHOULD BE MOVED TO HB?
  10. I wasn't there but as close as I can get.:hihi:

It was told to me as fact and I have no reason to doubt this source. Crowton was still in the conversation but Miles took the lead and made the final call the entire 4th quarter.
