And the post below confirms mine: Personally, I have no gripes about the win but goes to show some can gripe and still enjoy...doesn't mean they're "miserable."
If you're the TF public relations you are most definitely an epic fail, and probably a big cause as to why so many have chosen other sites.
First off there wasnt much difference in the second half of the Bama game and what weve seen all year. The play calling was pretty terrible outside of the deep passes. Other than that LSU was the same, predictable O they have been all year. After watching the ULM game its definitely apparant just how bad the O really is. When you cant roll up over 400 yards against a pretty poor ULM D then something is wrong. The coaches actually let them air it out. Which should have been done against Auburn, but thats besides the point. The players just dont have it. The QBs are subpar. Each missed some big pass plays that a SEC QB should make. Randle makes some spectacular plays but has horrible hands. He drops more passes than he catches. Toliver has never come close to the 5 star potential he was suppose to be coming out of HS. The OL couldnt sustain holes against a very small ULM DL. The play calling has been horrible but the players are not where they need to be on O. Nowhere near it. The D had to save the day yet again. LSU will catch hell with Arkansas who will put up some pts.
It's as simple as this. The team, particularly the offense, spent so much emotion last week against Bama that it carried over into last night. Go back and look at the schedule for the last 4 years. You'll notice that there's always an out of conference game against a lesser school right after we play the gumps. Do you think that's an accident? If you do, you'd be wrong. It's because the coaches know what a huge game both physically and emotionally it is for the team, so schedule Tech, Lafayette, or Monroe to guard against a letdown loss. I'm confident that we'll be ready and you'll see a better effort out of the offense this week. And despite the beat down Tenn put on them, the Rebel Bears always treat this as their bowl game and we all know the success Nutt has had.
We won't be able to do that against North Carolina...or West Virginia...or Florida...or Auburn (well we you got that one) or Alabama... What else is new?
Just like we did against UNC, WVU, Bama, Miss St, UF and yes even AU. Miles and the Tigers have been proving everybody wrong all season long, watch as they continue to. Say what you want, and yes our O does suck, but this team finds ways to win. We have had one of the toughest schedules of everybody ranked in the top 10 and have faired better than almost all of them. The only team ranked ahead of us that has an even comparable schedule is AU, and that is who beat us. Having gone 6-1 against teams that were either ranked or are ranked in the top 25 isn't an easy task. We have managed to, even with this offense. I'd say Miles has done a great job at getting the most out of what he has to work with. Your point about RR and TT is spot on though. The 2 of them for as spectacular as some of their catches are, I'd give that up for consistency any day. I pointed it out before, if we are sitting at 11-1, on the outside looking in, these 2 will be looking back to the AU game at a drop each of them had that could have changed the outcome of that game. A heavy weight for each of them to carry.
I'm not a big fan of this LSU offense, but a game against ULM is difficult to read anything into. They were so overmatched by LSU's defense, the offense didn't have to do much. Even if our offensive performance last week was a fluke, we should have enough to beat a pathetic Ole Miss team who got run by a bad Tennessee team this weekend. it's the Arkansas game that we need LSU's offense to perform. Our defense is good, but I have a feeling that Mallet will find a way to put up 24 points at home against us. We have to match that.
the incompleted passes on sat were not all on the qbs. sure there were some stinky passes but there were also some that should have been caught but were dropped.
