For those who wrote off basketball after Nicholls, time for a second look

The men's basketball team is now 5-2, the second loss coming against #14 Memphis in a close game where the Tigers led at the half, in what was essentially a home game for Memphis. LSU soundly beat Houston tonight and controlled the entire game. The team is starting to look solid and well-rounded. Very importantly, we're actually getting decent production from the bench, which will help keep us in tough games. Offense will be hit and miss, but the defense has looked impressive. LSU won't always be the most talented team on the floor, or the most physical, but this is a well-coached team, and it looks like things are starting to gel for these guys.

Good to know, but I just can't get fired up for college BB right now. I'll come around in mid Jan or so.

I figured it would be better to gin up support for basketball than start the 2,596th Crowton thread.

    Should Crowton go or stay?

That's a tough one, I haven't been known to have a strong opinion on the matter either way, so I'll get back to you.

I'm hearing that if LSU could have thrown a tic tac into a swimming pool they would have beaten Memphis.

Yeah they are a very young team, no seniors. They could compete if they play like they did against houston, they shot over 50% right?

Went thru a cold stretch at the beginning of the second half and never recovered.
