There's this guy named Willie Lyles who might be able to help you out a little more...

Or separate the lil fellas into two groups putting all the white kids in one and all the black kids in another. From there you pull all the fat ass white & black kids and place them in a third group.

Now we have a starting point for evaluation. So simple cause at this point you'll have your linemen, QB's and RB's are all in separate groups. Any kids left in the two groups after you take your QB and RB's out are in the mix for WR's and/or DB's.

In Youth football all you need is a quarterback and a running back so this simple method will yield huge returns for you and best wishes.

    A couple of other tips...

1.) Put your fastest players on defense.

2.) Put your 2 best players on the outside either at DE or OLB, one on each side. The bad guys favorite play is Reggie left and Reggie right. If Reggie gets outside, Reggie's gone.

How young are they and is this their first time playing organized ball? I ask cause I'm guessing you don't have any history on them?? If so and they're that young, just make sure they have fun.

As for evaluations, their physical makeup will dictate their options. Start there.

Ever see a tall running back? a Short receiver? an overweight kid in a secondary?

Here's an important stat for you. 45 Super Bowl winners...One Doug Williams.

yes definitely put your fastest players on defense and on the outside. In youth football speed is everything! Also, for the youngsters, putting on the pads makes a difference, I have seen some super fast kids get slowed down by their pads, so test their speed after the pads are on (if you can)
