God I hope people don't boo him. Let's hope our fans understand what it means for him to be able to resume his life. Dont want to get into the case but he is a kid that effed up. He has a chance to make a good life for himself. I'm sure this has been difficult and that he has learned some hard lessons. Hope the entire stadium makes him feel at home. We would do the same for any of our own family. It would be very disappointing if our fans boo him. We all have done things we wish we could take back regardless of our social status. Having said all that, he should not start. It is Lee's time and he has earned it.He needs to accept his new role and support Lee any way he can. I'm sure he will enjoy being back with the team even if he doesnt get a snap. Geaux Tigers.
I plan on clapping, and giving him all the support I am capable of - I know I screwed up more than I can say grace over when I was a fifth year senior at LSU - thank God I was allowed to continue.
Ding, ding, ding! You are VERY MUCH CORRECT! NEITHER ARE ACCOMPLISHED QBs. We can win with either but BOTH have strong weaknesses as well as strengths. I'd like to see BOTH improve. We should be in the top 25 in passing...
These comments make me sad. At humanity. Just for perspective when we won the NC in 2007 we were 58th in the nation in passing. . . Take your spread offense "top 25" passing dreams elsewhere. This is where real teams play smash mouth football.
I hope the LSU fans not boo JJ. That can be potentially detrimental to the team as I am sure that causes anxiety and distraction for the rest of the team; talking about disrupting the team chemistry. If that happens, the blame rests solely on those stupid and classless fans. JJ has already paid a high price via losing his starter position, and missing playing time with the team for a significant part of the season. Fans should give him some slack and welcome his back. His skill set may well help this team down the road on the way to New Orleans, and he is an important experienced backup QB. Don't mess him up. I know the past 2 seasons' offense performance has been, and hard to watch. But that's not necessarily all on JJ. Remember the good plays that he had made, not just the bad ones. I do think he has improved over the summer; we just have to be patient and watch.
EXACTLY! We need a solid consistent leader on the field. Lee is filling that role perfectly, and under a ton of pressure.
this isnt even really about football anymore IMO. It's about a young guy getting a second chance. I'm just glad to see JJ get an opportunity to get right. I'll admit his play has driven me nuts but this team will be fine regardless. These guys are mentally strong, close knit, focused, and ambitious. I dont see JJ being reinstated as a problem unless CLM just puts him right back in or pulls JL at the first sign of trouble which I seriously doubt.
when has lee looked pressured? He has looked totally calm and in control under center this year. night and day compared to years past.
