That 13-point lead disappeared quickly and the last second half court shot by Auburn knocking the lead to seven at half hurt. I was hoping Auburn's double OT game and playing on the road would hurt them down the stretch or in OT. I don't know if they were tired or we just made more plays but I'll take the win.

Yes, happy with the win. You can take the positives from this as Ralston started to find some rhythm in the first half, and at times you could see the difference that Anthony Hickey and Justin Hamilton make this season. At the same time, sometimes the erratic play of LSU's guards and the "youth" of this team if you can call it that, led to spots in the second half where LSU should have gotten separation and just didn't. Hamilton didn't get his first second half shot until with 5:50 to go. I'm not sure why they don't have Warren set the high screen instead of Hamilton... it leads too often to Hamilton being way too far from the basket to make a difference down low. This is also where you really miss JOB, that second post player that really makes a team think about two live bodies in the post. There are times where Stringer and Turner rush shots, and there just isn't the patience to get a good shot or feed Hamilton. And, although their defense kept Auburn under 60, the second half rebounding and boxing out wasn't great. A little "rust" from whatever funk they were in last week. Nevertheless, tonight's game was a need to have game that almost got away. Last year, this Auburn home game ended up in a loss, this year it didn't. So, we should breathe a sigh of relief and cheer on the Tigers in the next games. These games of course, no one expects the Tigers to win. So, let's see what they can do when they have nothing to lose. :geaux:
I was glad to hear we won. I was at Central for my son's game and they were announcing the score during the game. So I came home and bought 3 tickets to the Kentucky game...
