Can't root for ND No Way No How!

One very real reason I can not root for Notre Dame is because it is a Catholic University...and I am a fervent, practicing Catholic.

You see, almost all Catholic Colleges (especially Jesuit ones) have been allowed to abandon their moral obligation to promulgate the doctrines of Christianity in favor of dissent against the same teachings. A majority of Catholics (especially Latin American Catholics) think there is nothing wrong with the assault on religious freedom that the democratic administration is pursuing. Don't be surprised when Catholic hospitals, charities and schools close in the face of tax intimidation by the government unless the church violates its own teachings by acquiescing to the DHH mandate.

Catholics voted for Obama with a 50%-48% margin and over 70% of Catholic Hispanics voted for Obama.

When free people vote against freedom (of religion), they pull down the columns of a free society on themselves just like Samson brought down the temple on his own head.

I hear what you're saying but most of the people who voted for Obama were not voting for him because of his position on religion and I can promise you "freedom" means FAR more to them than you and me.

The Catholic church probably has tons of money, it's more heterosexual priests we need.

I don't know what the DHH is but the church has "violated its own teachings" before. Remember when NO ONE could touch the blessed host? Or when altar boys were, well, boys?

    I cannot pull for Alabama.

I will certainly pull for Georgia on Saturday and if they win, will easily pull for Richt and the Bulldogs in Miami. However, I won't pull for Saban and the gushing that will be done over him when he emasculates ND.

True dat about hypocrisy in religions !!! :D

My rant was mostly about my dissatisfaction with the Catholic Church itself...the bishops allowed the universities to go astray and now the teachings have taken a back seat.

Notre Dame is signified by a leprechaun....but behind the leprechaun, St Patrick is crying.

By the way, Obama won fair and square and he's my president !!

What I like about Richt is that he and Miles seem to be cut from the same cloth. Miles kicked Perrilloux and Matthieu off the team, and Richt has been doing that too. Both are moulders of men and have given lots of guidance and second chances to their players.

I'm rooting for Georgia too !! Geaux SEC !!

Ok here's another scenario. Bama beats Georgia. Bama destroys Notre Dame, thereby angering the gods, and a bolt of lightning strikes Nicky boy down before he can reach the championship podium. Would that satisfy everyone?

It's not as much a hate of Saban as it is Bama in general. If truth be known I don't hate Saban as much as I hate what he's doing...coaching the Gumps.

Well, believe it or not, the fact that they're a Catholic school is the only thing that makes me happy for them if they do win. It's a feeling WAY deep down but it's there. Grew up with a mom who was a very strong Catholic- still is. My kids go to a Catholic school too.

Jack over. I'm going to pm you. I want to know what the DHH is.

Yeah I almost posted you'd like him since he's "hot" as I seem to remember you saying.
