  1. Fans were all screaming for Harris. You too. And Les gave him a shot that he earned in the NM State game. And he proved to be not up to SEC competition. Have a little patience, Harris is going to get there.

    "The position takes some time. It's stem, motion, check, read the play. It's an encompassing position. Those are the things that are going to get him to the field. He has a natural arm, he can run, he's competitive, we like him a lot. Hopefully by the time we get to Saturday, he will have taken some more steps that allow us to get him in the game."​

  4. Then he would be rightly criticized for throwing Harris under the bus. He said it the way decent coaches do.
  5. What Miles SHOULD do is throw himself under the bus. He should use one of his incoherent press conferences to take 100% of the blame for the lack of QB recruiting, quality QB play, QB development and overall offensive sucking. That would take the pressure and criticism off his players and put it exactly where it belongs.

  6. I first posted on this board 7 years ago when Nebraska was searching for a new HC and the rumors pointed to LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini. At the time, I was uncertain about the move. Most of you were convinced Pelini would be a good, not great, hire. Most of you were correct. With that being said, let me explain why it was time to go in a different direction from a Husker fans perspective.

    Yes, Bo's teams won at least 9 games each year. His teams also lost 4 games every year. Nine wins is a good statistic, but it is meaningless if you aren't winning meaningful games or worse yet, getting blown out in those meaningful games -- 2008, 52-17 loss to Missouri, 62-28 to Oklahoma, 2011, 48-17 loss to Wisconsin, 45-17 to Michigan, 2012, 63-38 to Ohio State, 70-31 to Wisconsin, 2013, 41-21 to UCLA, 38-17 to Iowa, and 2014, 59-24 to Wisconsin. All those games were nationally televised. Absolutely embarrassing and unacceptable.

    No, it's not the 1990's anymore. But Nebraska deserves better and I will not apologize for demanding more. For those interested, here is a link to a column by Dirk Chatelain of the Omaha World Herald that sums up my feelings about the move.

  9. It's not about a number. Bo won 10 games twice. Nebraska fans want to be competitive on a national stage. In seven seasons, Bo's teams never finished higher than 14th (2009). 30 teams finished in the Top 10 at least once during that 7 year span. Twenty teams have won a conference title -- Nebraska has none. Would LSU stand for that?

    And if you want to go strictly numbers, 43 different teams won 11 games during Bo's tenure (29 power five teams). Nebraska's best finish 10-4.
  10. I get yelled at for wanting more than 10 wins so NO, I wouldn't stand for it. But that is just me.
