Did I say she deserves respect? No. I said the gay community doesn't respect freedom of thought. Did I say she's entitled to break the law? No. Can she be charged? I imagine but the sources I read all said it would likely not get resolved until the next election. Would I give a shit if she got charged? Fuck no.

Now, I think you are trying too hard to create a disagreement where there is none.

I'm not disagreeing, I am commenting. She deserves no respect from gay people, she's breaking the law, and she's malfeasant. That's what I think.

I didn't say SHE deserves respect. I said gay people should respect other people's RIGHT to their beliefs, just as they demand of everyone else regarding their beliefs.

But her beliefs are not the issue here, it is her disrespect for the law. There are many people who don't agree with gay rights and that is fine. But this one holds public office and its not a matter of her beliefs, it is a matter of respect for the law and she deserves none. From gays or anybody else. Don't be so defensive. I have opinions on your comments, that is all.

What about a German who illegally harbored a Jew? Was he entitled to break the law because of his beliefs?
