How many championships at any level are flukes, though? It's all about a team getting hot and making a run. And a lot of times, there has to be some divine intervention to get there. That's part of sports.
I don't think the issue is Bama. It's good teams. We win the three or four games with cupcakes every year. Pick off another five or so SEC bottom feeders, and get whipped by two or three good teams every year. Plus or minus a game or two. Just so happens that Bama is one of the good teams. Could just as easy be St Mary's School for the Crippled and Blind. It's the price of unimaginative, along with a consistently uni-dimensional offense, and poorly coached defense.
You have a point, I don't know, maybe I'm just not thinking right because of the way Alabama just completely beat the shit out of LSU last night in all phases. We finally get a generational tailback, and the O line that's the best we've had since 2003, and LSU got completely mauled. Our strength vs their strength was like a high school team playing the Patriots and any championship this year (right now) just wouldn't feel earned.
