Ok... we're just a week away from our opener against Oregon St... Let's see some score predictions... Mine is as follows.... LSU: 35 OSU: 14 Anyone else? :helmet: :champs: :helmet:
I'm not going to predict an actual final score since the last time I did I jinxed the Tigers and caused them to lose to Florida but the game should go something like this: On the first possession or two LSU will move the ball pretty good on the ground with JV and Randall will make a decent throw or two but there will be some drive killing early season illegal procedure or holding penalties. The defense will keep the game scoreless until the Tigers get the kinks worked out of the offense and score a couple of 2nd quarter TDs and maybe a field goal. By the end of the 3rd quarter LSU is far enough ahead so that JaMarcus Russell makes his first appearance. The game still isn't a blowout so Saban keeps the first teamers on the O line in the game and lets JR run the offense with Broussard and Addai as his running backs and Early Doucet and Amp Hill as the receivers. If the offense is as conservative as I think it will be JR mostly hands the ball off but if he isn't limited to passing only on 3rd downs there is a good chance that Doucet will break a big play out of a short reception. The Beavers get their only score of the game on a drive against the 2nd and 3rd team defensive guys as Saban gets a look at everybody. Matt Flynn comes in for the Tigers last possession or two as the Tigers run out the clock.
i was going to pick 35-14, but since you stole my idea out of my head while i was sleeping (how did you do that?) I'll go with 31-16
I think it will be a good game, but by no means a blow out. We need to remember this is a new team and they will take time to gel and learn to play with each other. I would love a blow out but I just dont feel the offense will be that far along. I hope im wrong.
Our offense will struggle a bit at the beginning. It will take a while for Randall to settle down and start moving the team down the field. But our defense should do a good job. LSU-24 OSU-10
