yeah, if that push-off penalty is called, Dame is in the hole, advantage LSU,.. no-call probably swung the game.
I mean, resting on the LSU D to win the game isn't a "bad call". Hindsight always makes us look like idiots!
Not inside the 1. Worst case scenario you don't make it, and the Lame has to go 99 yrds. But at least you tried to go for the W instead of settling.
The crappy part to me is even if you go for it on 4th and miss you still have ND pinned. If your thought process leads you to believe you trust your defense to stop them if we kick the 3 here, (and that’s a big if considering you already missed 2 short ones) why can’t you trust your defense if you don’t get the TD on 4th with Notre Dame pinned. Just doesn’t make sense to me.
I saw this posted on another board. Interesting; O is 2 - 6 against teams with winning records since taking over for Les.
Bottom line...in a 4-point game, we left 14 points on the field. Should have got 7 when we were inside the 1, false start made us settle for 3, and then the miss. Missed the other FG, and settled for 3 when we should have went for 7 down the stretch.
Neither do I, the decisions I’m talking about is administrative. We are hiring and firing without the proper due diligence. Instability will kill the heart of a program.
