1. I know they expect full recovery, but if it were me I'd be very hesitant to get back on a football field and take a chance of that happening again. My daughter had an infection in her hip joint and I'd never seen anybody in so much pain.

  2. Isn't this the same injury they had with cj mosley? He's in the NFL still.
  3. My thoughts soon as I saw who the lead pro/antagonist was. Need some kaka to give some real perspective.
  4. Had to look. Says he dislocated his elbow, knee, and hip during his days as a gump. Thats pretty amazing. Didnt see anything about actually fracturing the hip though. Not sure whether it matters.
  5. Even just a bad dislocation (though they reduced it at the stadium before transport) can play havoc with the cartilages & ligaments and can alter the blood supply to the joint, leading to a hip replacement down the road.

    Sucks bad.
  6. I have heard this several times. What does it mean?
  7. The dislocated femur--thigh bone--pops partially or even fully out of its cup (a ball & socket arrangement). This has to be reduced--put back into original position--soonest to reduce the risk of blood vessel & nerve injury, tearing etc. Once back in, if the patient is lucky, the risks for further harm and loss of blood supply to the tissues is minimized. Then they can work on CT etc to see what else happened.

Oh, and once reduced, the patient--Tua, for instance--has a huge reduction of pain.

He's young & healthy; one hopes for the best possible return to normal for the kid!
  8. Heard today and makes sense, not a lot of vascular activity in that region which would make for longer recovery the longer it is out of joint

  9. Bama has the number one ranked dual threat QB coming in so they don’t care if Tua comes back or not. Also, I think Tua has to go pro, kinda like Willis McGahee and his knees, before he suffers another injury.

It would not surprise me if New England took a flier on Tua and let him understudy till the QB position was open and Tua was rehabbed properly. What other teams could do this...
maybe the Saints, Chargers... who knows.

  10. That injury won't play well in colder temps rehab or not
