I don't see it that way. The kid is probably just trying to figure out what is best for him and I can't fault that. ACL's are not career enders and most come back stronger than before the injury so I really don't see what would keep him at gump u. Maybe he feels like he has something left to prove and hard to fault him there either, hell I'm hoping Chassion feels the same damn way.
