Offensive Whoes spell trouble for the Tigers...

I dont mean to the bearer of bad news but if the Tiger offense doesnt step up and deliver some haymakers in the next three games, we could be looking at an early bowl (Hawaii). My reasoning is as follows:

Vanderbilt game - Tiger offense scored on a punt return late in the game against a thin stretched Vandy cover team. A hail mary like pass from Randall that Buster had to make a TD (come back and around defenders). A fumble in the red zone by Vandy. Im sorry but we should have beat vandy like we did Miss St.

The QB situation is almost hopeless IMO. Marcus Randall is an accident waiting to happen. Yes, he played a decent game against a strangely average UF team. But other than that game he has been very inconsistent and at times incompetent. JaMarcus Russell is young, inexperienced and needs to learn to read a defense. He stares his recievers down all the way and makes secondarys cream when he throws. Matt Flynn is probably not our best chance at QB either. From what I have seen of him, he is very uncomfortable in the pocket and jumpy. He has not taken enough snaps to give him confidence.

Our RB's are our only saving grace. Broussard, Addai, Carey and JV assure us at least some offensive yardage but basically it is all on the backs of B and A. JV for some reason looks slow and has trouble cutting. And dont tell me he doesnt have the o line from last year, because neither does Broussard but he is doing great. Carey for some reason isnt getting any PT maybe injury from last year is still aggrevating him.

Our recievers are YOUNG, skyler although injured has just not played with any confidence this season. B. Davis is having a great year and should get alot of credit for LSU's meeger passing attack. D. Bowe has come clutch for the Tigers in tight spots but doesnt seem to have the hand-eye coordination it takes to be a big time reciever. I would like to see him play safety next year. X man has played limited on offense but seems like a firecracker just waiting to explode later. I have enjoyed watching him return kicks... except for the obvious blooper of the year. Doucet has played great, and i knew he would be a clutch reciever this season.

O-Line has played good in some instances, but overall is just missing that one player that will make things happen. With Big Ben gone and our QB's the way they are, should be interesting in two weeks with Bama bringing the heat. I would like to see these guys hustling a little more, seems like they are out of shape and just getting beat by most defenses.

Defense has been our only saving grace this year, and with that I mean our DLine, our secondary was touted preseason as being the best in the country, but every decent QB we play picks them apart. CW should have left for the NFL, but Im glad TD will be back next year because he has played consistent most of the year.

and last but not least... Kickers and Special teams... this category has seemingly gotten better since the beginning of the season and hopefully will continue to get us decent field position and xtra points.

My last comment is on our bowl situation, I think that with the weapons we have this season but a lack of a even decent QB we will be going to the:
Cotton Bowl - win the next 3 games in decent fashion
Capital One - If UGA and Tennessee both get beat by Auburn, I could see us jumping ahead of UGA, but we will have to beat the last three opp. in convincing fashion)
Peach Bowl - If we drop one to either Ark or Bama
Independence - if we drop games to both
Oahu - if we by some chance get beat by all three ( and this is a stretch).

Why is TD gone, they extended him a medical redshirt, he has one more year.

The only game we MAY lose is at Arkansas.

No way we lose to Alabama or Ole Miss. No way in hell.

Dont be so sure, Ole Miss looked good this weekend against Auburn, Bama is playing better every weekend with the number 1 defense in the country, and Arkansas has MattJones.

First off there is no Oahu Bowl...there is the Hawaii Bowl played in Honolulu. Secondly, the Hawaii Bowl has contracts with the WAC and Conference USA so no matter what we do we will not be going to Hawaii. SEC Bowl games are as follows:
Sugar Bowl, Independence Bowl, Houston Bowl, Peach Bowl, Music City Bowl, Outback Bowl, Cotton Bowl and Capital One Bowl.

All bowls have an at large option if there are not enough bowl eligible teams from their contracted conferences... but that would be only if the SEC bowls are filled.. 3 loses would likely mean Shreveport or Houston..

Ole Miss got their asses handed to them at home. The game is 4 quarters long.

Bama lost their best player in Croyle and will get their butts kicked at Death Valley.

When has Matt Jones ever beaten LSU?

Take your loser attitude someplace else, dude. :cuss:

Swerved It appears my hypocrisy knows no bounds.

I agree with sabanfan on that one. We will win out, but it will be more of the nail-biting games that drive us crazy till the last second, so be ready.

My only real concern is the loss of Ben Wilkerson... But even still, I think we will be ok.

LSU seems to play better under pressure this year and there will be plenty of it in the last 3 games.... They WILL find a way to win.

and KteamLSU, as far as Marcus Randall goes.... eveyone is on his n*ts about how he's played, but he's got a 63% completion ratio... 7 TD's and 5 Int's and about 1000 yards.... Not the most awesome numbers in the book, but he's not done as bad as it seems.

I think people have had it out for him from the get-go, so they capitalize any little error he makes.... Hell, even last week against Troy... Everyone's quick to point out he had 3 int's , but they don't mention the fact that he had 300+ yards in the air.... Or that he had almost as much rushing against Vandy as our "Star" running backs did.....

Bottom line is, he's been inconsistant over the years, and he's had 2 shaky games this year (if you're looking at interceptions, but I'd not call the Troy game shaky on his part.)..... But he's not the horrible QB everyone is so quick to deem him as.... He'd look alot better behind a decent offensive line, which I might add we don't exactly have....

There. I feel better now. :)

Hate to say it, but Nov. 27, 2002 with a spot in the SECCG on the line, or we would have played for the title three straight years.
