University of Slow Learners fumbled while punting on fourth down. The Mean Green Machine recovered at the 1 yard line and scored on next play. Quality football!
I am watching a bit of this game and the thing that jumps out at me is that I don't see the word Lafayette anywhere except the ESPN graphics. The word "Louisiana" is all over the place in the venue... the endzones, the uniforms, score boards, etc... :dis: I wonder if ULM does the same thing? Nah. All distaste for their jealousy aside, the ULL team is playing really tough ball. They don't realize they are in over their heads. If they keep this up they may actually win. That would suck! :yelwink2:
North Texas Won They beat ULL 27-17. I watched part of the game in the fourth, but knew it was over when the back from North Texas (forgot his name) ran that 56 yrd TD.
All of this is just ridiculous. I support ULL, SELA, Nicholls, NWestern, Grambling, Southern, McNeese, and of course LSU. There's only 1 team that I cannot stand, and it's for obvious reasons....Tulane. I don't care if Tulane's track team was about to beat the world record in the long jump, I just could not find myself to pull for them. Does Tulane even have a track team? Look at the NFL, what state has the most players drafted out of? Mississippi. You know who's second? Louisiana. We have some damn good talent down here that the rest of the nation only wishes they could have. So I say, if they're not Tulane, root for them!!!!
yeah.. ULL was pressured by LSU and the board of regents to adopt the regional, Louisiana-Lafayette name, but we are fighting it the entire way.. even the announcer says "Your Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns"... ULM does get pissed about it when they come here.. i dont think it will be much longer before ULL simply becomes Louisiana or U of L.. cant be UL, louisville has the copyright to that name..
haha. I mentioned this to one of the cajun fans that I went to the game with. He said they wouldn't tear them down if they won (which they didn't). I believed differently. If they had won, the posts would be down today. It would have been UNT's first conference loss ever and was on national tv. As far as their LSU envy, it's simply sickening. I saw some female wearing a "I like UL better than LSU". They weren't playing LSU, why wear that shirt? I was also told by the cajun student that bought my student ticket that I couldn't wear any LSU clothes. Needless to say, I wore my LSU shirt. I was also told that "no LSU fans should be allowed into the stadium". They'd rather have close to no one at the game than to have LSU fans supporting the team by buying tickets! I was told that "even though you're an LSU fan doesn't mean you can't pull for us". So, I stood up with them, tried to cheer, sat down, and told him "sorry, I tried but I can't". But, towards the end of the game, I was pulling for them because it was still Louisiana vs Texas. Some of the UNT players (that didn't even play) were taunting the student section. Great class there. One of the Cajun fans said "try playing in the SEC!!" Oh, and it was COLD! With lots of hot looking women!
I know this is going to set a lot of people off, but the ULL does have the better looking women with LSU a close 2nd in the country! I couldn't pay attention while sitting in class during the summer. Some of the things that they wear should be illegal!
A friend of mine attended both universities and he said the exact opposite. did you attend both to make a fair judgment?
being from the baton rouge area and attending ULL, i have to agree with dallaslsufan.. baton rouge has a little to much mississippi-trickle-down...
