We won't find out anyway, but Tennessee could easily be 6-4 or 5-5 right now, instead of 8-2. Auburn had Tennessee down 31-3 at half-time. "Destroy," is perhaps a bit strong, but, "Beat," certainly fits.

Tennessee stinks...They have a WORSE quarterback situation-if you can imagine it-than we do... Auburn was 1 point away from us...and they got lucky on THREE different occassions...Four if you count that 4th down conversion... 1.) The INT that wasn't from Cory Webster-Through his hands, or its a pick six. 2.) The punchout by Travis Daniels. Good call by the zebras, but would have been nice to get that break. It was very close. 3.) The ridiculous extra point penalty. That was absolute bullsh!t. I would honestly say that Auburn would grind us into a pulp right now, because Auburn was not that good of a team at the time we played them. Neither were we. The difference is that the momentum they've built up-and more importantly-the improvement they made over the course of the season far outpaces that of anything LSU can claim. Their no-name defense has some suspect parts, their secondary most importantly, but their offense has fueled a confidence building fire that has them breathing flames...They will not be denied, if you ask me. LSU was one point-and perhaps not even that much-lesser on the day we played them earlier this year. Auburn is now considerably better, and all can agree. LSU, on the other hand, is not considerably better that I can discern.
"I" would rank LSU 1st, but I'm biased. Those 2 loses were flukes, slip-ups, you know, boo boos. Hell if the media can be biased and rank the teams they like, why can't I? Just because we lose a game or two doesn't mean we're not no. 1. We're no. 1 because "I" say so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :hihi:  :geaux:
Tennessee has received a lot of help from the officials all season long. LSU got no such break at Auburn. If it would have been Tennessee in the same situation, the call would have gone their way. It is not a matter of asking if, it is a matter of asking why.
