On the other hand, an unsubstantiated post elsewhere says Del Rio is being interviewed by Skip.

Today. Now. Before Skip heads to Orlando for the game.

Just passin' things along as I find 'em...

BTW, not that this proves the rumor that Jack is interviewing today BUT...Tuesday is traditionally a day off for NFL players while in-season.

If there was a day between now and New Year's for Del Rio to hop a flight to Baton Rouge, it's today.

I spoke yesterday with an associate in Jax that said Del Rio “was incensed” with the level of fan support in the Jags most recent game. So much so, that he has openly complained about the Jags marketing group’s failure to “put butts in seats.”.

The Jags sold only 66,000 tix of a capacity 76,000 in their most recent – a game in which playoff position was in the balance . Turnstiles indicate that less than 32,000 heads were actually in attendance. That’s only 42% capacity.

The Jaguars have petitioned the NFL to block off 12,000 seats next season – for the entire season - in an effort to “force” the league’s blackout policy into effect…….in an effort to improve fan attendance.

As far as I know, NFL head coaches and assistants can not be contacted regarding other professional opportunities until the day after the final regular season game has been played. That will not be until this coming Sunday. This report is absolute BS...

It is my understanding that this tampering rule applies only to other NFL teams.
Notre Dame just hired an assistant NFL coach as their head coach with no tampering allegations.

I think it applies to all contacts - I'm not sure...

True, but you know how it goes ... our people talk to his people. Unofficial conversations take place to determine interest. If there is interest, then an official conversation takes place according to the rules.

I would think the ND coaching job disproves this. Charlie Weiss was with the Patriots this entire season up until a few weeks ago.

Not sure about ND. Maybe permission can be granted by the organization. I just can't see Jax allowing this with their season on the line...
