First of all, my ideal situation would have been for Saban to stay, but we all know that is not an option. Time to move on, Got It? .

So, here we are in a coaching hunt, and I am like a kid before Christmas...way too excited and looking for any clues who the next HC of the Tigers may be.

All this talk of Petrino is making me giddy, as is the mention on ESPN today about Les Miles and Jack Del Rio.

I can't wait for the new HC to be announced.....

Funny how such a down time in LSU football is turning into a fun and exiting moment at the same time.

Focus Petrineaux, Del Rieaux, and Miles-eaux :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I feel the same way. I cannot wait to see what unfolds, and if it is Petrino the thought of scoring 30-50 a game is exciting. These are the numbers his track record indicates. At AU they went from 21-31 ppg after he took over, and this year at Louisville his team averages over 50. I am very excited.

One thing is certain. My girlfriend will be much happier once LSU hires a new coach. She will get her boyfriend back.

Why are you so against Miles?

I am not for him either since I believe he is Michigan-bound once their job opens......but I also wouldn't mind him if he did come.

He has turned OSU into a very solid program now getting some good recruits as of late.

I have to admit to thinking about the following scenario:

LSU hires Bobby Petrino to a deal (including a seven-figure buyout clause). Bobby brings his brother, Paul, over as the OC.

Petrino surveys the landscape of available DCs, and realizes (smart man that he is) that he would build both immediate goodwill with fans and players and be able to turn the defensive side of the ball over to a capable coach by convincing Will Muschamp to stay in Baton Rouge.

Will, realizing that if he turns down the offer he'll just be a DC at some non-contending school instead of a DC at a top ten program, accepts Petrino's offer.

The Petrino brothers, both of whom were long-time QB coaches and/or played QB in college, give the sort of intense attention and coaching to our talented yet inconsistent QBs that Saban used to give to our DBs. Meanwhile, Will Muschamp retains the sort of defense and system he used under Saban, keeping current defensive players happy and comfortable...oh yeah, and dominant

Hey, a guy can dream, eh?

That's the exact 'coaching team' that I want. Two young talented coaches with a lot to prove. Petrino & Muschamp, ages 43 and 33 respectively.
