Hey MT, just because I'm not in love w/ the guy the way you appear to be, doesn't make me any less of a Tiger fan than you. I have my reservations about this guy. If you can't respect that, then TS. I'm not lying awake at night worrying about seeking your approval.
I hope you aren't seeking my approval....that would just be flat out scary... And I don't care if everyone loves the guy....I don't think he is a great coach either and have said that several times that....but I love how people are bashing the guy already and he isn't even the coach yet......it's like.....we bash other fan bases yet seem to have the worst at times.
You honestly think Miles is on the same tier as Nick Saban. I don't think Bill Pollan(sp) of the Indy colts said Les Miles was the best coach on grass which he was in fact referring to Saban. Miles is a B list hire, and I sure hope he could keep the program as a top ten program.
Do I think he is Saban? No Do I think he can succeed like Saban at LSU? Yes Miles doesn't have to be the best coach to win the SEC or even a NC with the talent we have in this state. Put the right coaches at the DC and OC spot and he can have a lot of success here...like he has had at OSU
Sorry MarineTiger, I went back and actually read some of your other posts on other threads. You have said some great things about our coach. You are about the only one. Fact is that in the last 4 years there is probably not another coach in the country that has done more with less than Coach Miles, considering the conference his team plays in. But for the rest of you, keep bashing Coach Miles. I want him realize the pressure cooker he may be getting into. Maybe he will rethink it and realize that Stillwater is much better, even it pays a million or so less per year.
Les is LESS When we hired Saban from "just over the middle of the pack" we stunk. NOW we're a top program. It's just not the same any more. This middle-of-the-pack cheap-a** thinking (combined with the favors these guys will demand from a coach who would crawl here he's so flattered) will spell disaster. We have seen the last NC for a long, long while. When Emmert left I figured this would happen. O'Keefe is a yes-man and the BOS is back in charge.
