    LSU offense:

Good performance. Everyone played well. Addai and Bowe come to mind. Doucet showing flashes. Carey looked good, given the chance.

QB: Russell has the best arm I've seen in Tigertown since Bert Jones. This is from strictly the physical perspective. Strong and accurate, can make all the throws. Still making some ill advised throws, but not unusual given his level of inexperience.

    LSU defense:

Lot of heart and talent, and they got after it today. Coaching looks to have improved the performance since the first two games.

    Fla. defense:

Pretty talented crew, they didn't make it easy for us.

    Fla. offense:

O-line not as good as ours. Our d-line controlled the action mostly. Their skill players looked good, except Leak. This Fla. team reminds me of LSU last year, lots of talent, but a below average SEC QB. It continues to show the importance of having a top QB.

Leak was so bad, that I don't know if it really tells us that much about the capability of our D. I wonder what would happen when we play a good team with a good QB.

My prediction for the year was 9-2 if Russell played like a soph (the expected case) and the coaches did a basic good job. 10-1 if Russell surprised to the upside, and 11-0 if Russell surprised to the upside and played like a more experienced player AND the coaches did an exceptionally good job in their first year. 8-3 would be a disappointment. All that is still the way I feel.

I think you have to also add Chris Jackson in there for having a very good game.

I agree except with the offense, too many penalties and putting the ball on the ground. Loaded with talent but not performing up to their capability and if they ever do look the hell out.

Yea, turnovers and penalties were major, and prevented us from putting them away much earlier. That's been recurring this year, hope the team gets it corrected. Some of the turnovers are JR ill-advised throws. If you're gonna throw it away, but sure you're outside the tackles and you throw it out of bounds. JR almost threw another interception, but he stepped out of bounds, late in the game. We got away with one there.

Yep and I'd like to see better pass protection out of our O line. Florida is a talented group on defense and they did beat UT but they are smaller in size than us and UT. At times we blew them off the ball and at others they were all over JR. AND with his in experience we need to give him lots of protection to make up his mind..

I don't know if they were just doing some stunts or what but FLorida shouldn't get that fire urban thing going just yet. From what i saw at times they were blocking well and generally well coached. I know they have had alot of penalties too though.

I have to take issue with a formation the offense uses... I dont like the 2 tight I.... we run out of it 90% of the time and Florida was stacking 8 and 9 in the box... Some of our better running plays were out of non-running formations (shotgun traps and draws)... If you are going to bring in an extra TE, then take out the fullback.. keep 2 wideouts on the field so that when they stack the box you actually have people to throw to (if JR actually starts checking out against the stacked box).

??? Dude Wow! Do you really think Leak is a BELOW AVERAGE SEC quaterback? He is injured and obviously doesn't feel comfortable in this spread offense. I would take that guy any day.

Penalties and turnovers are the only thing holding this team back. All 17 of Florida's points came off LSU turnovers. Addai had about 60 yards called back because of penalties.

If Leak were in a position to just tell Meyer where to get off, I think he would.

But leak has few options apart from just staying put and hoping that he can overcome the pidgeon hole that Meyer has backed him into.
