Nope. She has the authority to appoint the LSU Board of Supervisors. That's it. Influence, yes. Authority, No. And she isn't going to risk getting on the bad side of LSU supporters--she's a politician. She won't even try to influence this one. She'll let the Board do their jobs to shield her from criticism. And the BoS will not agree on the matter and will let it drop. They don't have to worry about re-election, just about protecting LSU. Neither Blanco nor the Board will even address the issue unless forced and then they will say the appropriate things and do nothing. It would lose a court challenge and neither LSU nor the state want any piece of it. The flag itself has no constituency, but Freedom of Speech has a big one.
