Nobody was comparing Miles to Saban, they are just pointing out that this is the first time in a very long time that we have not beat both teams in the same season. Stop trying to stir the pot!:dis:
The Gators are NOT in rebuilding mode. They have the talent and experience to be a top ten team. If Myer didn't run that high school offense with the completly wrong QB to do it with we would not have been so lucky. If you want to say that they are in the process of destroying any possibility of making the most out of their great recruiting over the past few years then that would be accurate.
so you know what I think and what my intentions are now? get real. I just wanted to show that the LSU football team IS actually doing some good things... bah, nothing positive will ever sit well with you.
Did anyone say Miles is a better Coach than Saban? NO. Stop making stuff up to fit your own agenda. Also, what if and couldve been's don't count in college football (i.e. - missed FG kicks) lots of if's happen everygame. only thing that counts in the end is the final score. :thumb:
Very true, but if blowing a 21 point lead at home and earning the "honor" of blowing the biggest lead while playing in Tiger Stadium in the history of LSU football does not make Les Miles a bad coach, then beating Auburn and Florida in a single season does not in and of itself make Les Miles a good coach. It simply is what it is, that's all. It's the W-L records over the course of entire seasons that count, nothing else.
That was DiNardo. We were #10, they were #9, and I think that was actually our homecoming game for some weird reason. The game had major hype and was being carried by ESPN. Shaun Alexander absolutely ran all over our asses that night. It was sickening. Biggest lead we had in that game was 10 points. The other examples are good, however...proof that he wasn't invincible.
I think Gumbeaux was talking about the 31-0 thrashing in Baton Rouge in 2002. #10 UA vs #12 LSU http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=27811&SPID=2164&DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=175938 Franchione the coach, Tyler Watts the QB, Shaud Williams/Santonio Beard the RBs. Total of 477 yards in total offense rolled up against us. Marcus Randall went a sparkling 6-17 for 36 yards.
Oh yes, despite my best efforts to forget it, I still remember that one. On the brightside, Russell attended that game and has stated that our lack of a QB in that game was what made him decide to come to LSU.
This had more to do with Florida's progress. Between 1988 and 2001, LSU was 1-14 against Florida. Spurrier only lost to LSU one time, in 1997. Saban then beat Florida during Zook's first year at Florida, in 2002.
I think the point of this thread was to predict that CLM will eventually have either a track stadium or football practice facility named after him.:hihi:
