Good grief... I don't like USC or Texas. And Texas was just ranked number 1 for a brief moment. To me it would be a hoot to watch Texas get screwed. :thumb:
I meant the stand alone SOS component...didn't realize I put it the way I did until you guys pointed it out. Thanks. We are on the same page...
You see, in my opinion that's a point that gives some credence to what Spurrior and Tuberville have said the last few days. As example, Stoops made the comment he doesn't have time to watch games for two reasons. One, he's studying his own team and their film...secondly, a lot of the info these voters receive comes from Gameday, etc. Those programs, focus on players like the ones I've mentioned. It's a mess, I'll agree with anyone on that. But you know? One of the things that makes college football the passion it is happens to be the debates that encircled its history.
FSU will have to win on defense alone and that aint happenin. theyre overrated. they are lost on offense and can't move the ball when needed. va tech takes out miami and beat the noles in their sleep.
of course we have been. special teams and defense have been our savior. only reason FSU has a high scoring average is because they played the citadel, duke, wake and syracuse. 4 terrible teams. they scored 10 on the only defense comparable to Techs. you should watch their offense against good teams. its pretty bad.
Re: Even if... Many of these computer rankings don't take into account much beyond stats. To think that scoring points against an SEC defense is the same as scoring points against a WAC defense is pretty lame..... http://www.unf.edu/~jcoleman/minv.htm And is also the reason why Fresno State can be ranked higher than LSU. The sad part of this is that it is a real factor in determining real bowl bids.
Re: Even if... I'm not quite following what you are saying. First, the link you sited is not one of the six computers that are in the BCS Standings. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "Many of these computer rankings don't take into account much beyond stats." None of the computers take stats into account. Nor do they take score into account. The only one that puts any emphasis on points at all is Billingsley, because he gives a small bonus for not giving up more than 6 points in a game. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are trying to say, but if I am, correct me.
It is cool to think Va Tech will win, but don't lie and make up numbers that aren't real... The team scores 35+ a game...
