That was a sick hit. I think it definitely got in Brodie's head. I've got nothing but respect for that guy. But damn....what a hit.
I would argue that was the Pontiac game changing performance.....reminded me of the hit on Jason White in the Sugar Bowl.
Defensively, I think that was the game-changer. 'Bama, and Croyle in particular, didn't look the same after that. Even when he had time to throw the ball, he was throwing off his back foot, or rushing the throw. A sign that he was NOT comfortable at ALL.
Landry's hit was nasty (both of them)! The defense has a 2003 swagger to it all of a sudden. It's a little cocky, and might end up costing us some penalties, but they've got the Chad Lavalais/Marquise Hill attitude that we've missed.
That hit changed the game, Croyle could not throw it the same after that (and a few other hits afterwards)...and when he did, he was backpeddling the ball was just a tad off, causing a drop. Big time play. Also, anyone catch Landry mauling Darby in the hole? He ran right over him, then told him all about it
Well I didnt read the thread first, I see two others beat me to the 'game changer' comment...needless to say I agree!
I wish I came up with that one. In defense of Brodie, if I got hit like that I would be on the sideline eating Darvon.
It surely rattled Brodie. I say that hit should've come in first half. There was no pressure on him and our defense was oh so porous.
