Like we shut down Appalachian St.'s QB? I actually think LSU could hang with any team, Southern Cal and Texas included. I still wonder where the offense is. I was getting excited in the 3rd quarter, I saw everything coming together, and then after 10 points we do nothing else. This team could be so good with an offense. I doubt Maisel or any other national guy hates LSU. They might have something against the fans, but the only anti-LSU part of the media might be the pro-USC, Notre Dame contingent. Texas gets lots of love, but Texas has been good for a long time and has really looked good this season.
Quick, other than USC or Texas, name me teams in the Big XII or Pac 10 that you are scared of. IMO, both those teams have at least 1 loss in the SEC. While the bottom of the Sec is pretty weak, there is no other conference in America stacked at the top like the SEC. LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and the middle of the pack isn't too bad either. Don't really think Texas would be wiping out teams by 50 if they played in the SEC like they are in the big XII.
UT seems to get better every week. Right now, they look to me to be a more formidable opponent than USC. Or maybe I hear too much burnt orange stuff from the locals.
Texas would give us fits. I think our Defense can Rattle USC's offense and their Defense isn't that great. :geauxtige
The middle would then be, who, South Carolina?? Now where did I put the "Homer Comment Of The Week" trophy? Dang, I bet someone gave it to one of the ACC posters again. :hihi:
South Carolina with Holtz isn't South Carolina with Spurrier. South Carolina is currently ranked #19 on the AP poll. That is currently higher than 8 of the 11 Big 10 teams. (AKA Big 11?)
South Carolina is a team searching for consistency, just like Michigan State. Most long time SEC fans don't see them as a top tier program just yet. This is one of the rare occasions when a team in the SEC is thought of being in higher esteem from the outside looking in.
