No, but our run blocking has been so horrendous that it has more than offset the decent job they've done at protecting JR. If you're satisfied with the job the OL has done this year then you're settling for a below-average unit.

Now that's simply not true. We've been, at the very least, average. They haven't performed up to expectations, but they are still one of the better Olines in the league.

I am not very impressed with what Miles has done with the coaching this year (given all the talent LSU is supposed to have), I'll admit. One year isn't enough to judge the coach, especially this year with the hurricane which would have been hard for Saban to deal with as well. I think next year will be a better indicator as to what kind of coach Miles is with most of the starters on defense gone next year. So to me, the jury is still out.

We're a team that is supposed to pride ourselves on running the football. We play in a smash mouth conference and we can't open a hole for our RB's to run through. I think they've been below average, especially considering the hype around the unit before the season.

If Pellini leaves after this year, it will be interesting what happens with our defense because we'll have so many relatively young & inexperienced guys there.

again, i have no idea what you're talking about. you (and your toadies) need to read posts, understand them, and then post again if you like. i said nothing about being satisfied with the OL, nor anything about run-blocking. just pointed out that the OL could be worse.

the OL has done better than just a "decent job" at protecting JR

Well we lost our best RB before the season started & our second best RB has been restricted by injury the past month or so. Being down to your 3rd string RB (who happens to not hit holes as hard) will make your Oline run-blocking look worse than it is. Your expectations & the hype around them have nothing to do with their performance and how that relates to other Olines in the country. Again, they are, at the least, average.

That stat doesn't measure the number of times JR was clobbered AS he threw the ball...

Is your son a lineman or something that you refuse to admit defeat here?

Sorry, but I was expecting a lot better. We've got the same line as the end of last year, where they were creating holes and AB and Addai were tearing through them. Sure, they'd look better if AB was out there, but there have been way too many runs where a DT would blow up the center of the line and get to the RB before he even had a shot.
