I really dont understand this, both timing wise and his flip/flop between NFL-LSU-NFL.

He would hurt NOBODY by waiting a couple more weeks. The Vikes dont need him right now. They dont need him for at least a month. Even if he took the job they could have waited to announce this. He has been a big part of the recruiting process. His coaching position has our top recruit in Al Woods who I believe he recruited. I dont like this at all.

Dandy Don has an update on his site that says he's leaving. More details later.

    I couldn't agree more.

You know, in today's "world of football coaches" you expect to encounter this sort of behavior/action from a coach that has no emmotional ties to your university, but I'm disappointed in the way this was handled by one of our own... :dis:

A lot of AU folk were mad when Chizik left before signing day. Protocol seems to dictate waiting, but we do live in a less genteel society these days. With all the NFL jobs open and the shuffling just starting, the period after National Signing Day could be most intriguing. Miami has spots to fill, will Jeff Bowden move to a new school, who will move to the NFL creating other openings? Is this the calm before the storm?

I guess it's always 2nd nature to freak out when it happens to your team, but I guess, in hindsight, there are lots of top-tier programs, this year and in years past, that are in the same situation.

Texas lost their D-coordinator to Syracuse....they still had a good class
    Auburn lost Chizik....they're still solid
Miami FIRED 4 of their coaches...and their fans aren't exactly "flipping out" about it--some even demanded it be done....
