I'm sure you just watched the girls play. UGA down 9 with 1:39 to play and they start fouling. LSU ups the lead to 13, but UGA doesn't give up. They cut it to 6 before losing by 7. Thankfully we were making our FTs or it would have been very interesting at the end. That's how it should be done...
LSU could have missed every free throw and still won. Also, notice they were playing no D near the end. Trust me...Georgia was beat with 2 and a half minutes left and there's not a damn thing any coach could have done about it. If that had been Baylor, we'd have won by 20.
Yes, I have seen countless basketball games end in that fashion. The last minute of the game taking twenty minutes or so. It is uncommon that the fouling strategy works out successfully though. Agree or disagree? I understand people saying Brady should have tried it and not given up. Do you think it would have worked though, based on how the game had been going? I think not. Thoughts?
I agree that the chances of pulling out a win in that situation is slim, but we've all seen it happen before. Not trying guarantees you absolutely no chance of making a comeback. If given a choice, I'd take a slim chance over no chance. I've not been critical of Brady all year, but that one chapped my ass...
Well, Brady did tell them what player to foul near the end. They even went as far as to foul him *after* he'd gotten rid of the ball. That player then missed two shots and allowed for the game winner by LSU. I vote for a global mute of you.
perfect.. we foul and it becomes a possible 3 possession game. If you get a stop, you can turn it into a 2 possession game.
