I'm in Atlanta for the ACS meeting and was able to attend the game tonight. I'm 44 years old and attended many LSU games when I was in grad school at LSU in the mid-80's. I missed the Final Four year by one year...I have to say that the game tonight was the best game of any kind I've ever been to, including pro sports. The Tigers were awesome and I don't think I've seen such intense defense. Between the blocked shots and holding Duke to 28% shooting, amazing! The Tigers are the consumate TEAM -- the game tonight was a total team effort. Everyone stepped up...even though parts of the game were a bit nerve racking, especially in the second half when Duke went up by five. This team never quit and they really showed something to the rest of the nation and Dickie V -- maybe now we'll get the respect we deserve. Recent news articles have talked about the team chemistry and it was really evident to me tonight. I wore my favorite purple LSU sweatshirt and I can't even count the number of people who remarked how impressed they were with how the Tigers played and offered congratulations, during my walk back to the hotel. I have meetings tomorrow and I yelled and cheered so much tonight I'll be lucky to get through the day. It was definitely worth it. Can't wait to Saturday! GEAUX TIGERS! :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
I'm heading up tomorrow for the ACS meetings also. I won't get tickets to the game but oh boy will I be hungover for the Sci-Mixer on Sunday.
I envy you so much for being able to attend this game. No one can say that John Brady didn't have his team prepared for this one. OMG! I'm still pumped and I'm so proud of all the guys stepping up. I'm sure Duke didn't think they had to worry about the entire bench, just a select few. The only word that sums it up is perfection.
It was total luck to be here this weekend anyway. I'm still so pumped I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight! :geauxtige
I know how you feel. My ex mother-in-law called during the last few minutes of the game and I just said, NOT NOW...and hung up...lol Oh well, I'm out of the family anyway, but she knows how I get during a game and has no idea I was even watching one.
How was the LSU crowd- it was tough to tell on TV? The announcers made it sound like it was a Duke crowd. What is the ACS- American Cajun Society? http://lsubasketball.com
I know the feeling. I was hollaring and screaming so loud my neighbor called to see if i was ok. Didnt realize the LSU bb game was on until i reminded her. I have a tendancy to get really jacked up and cuss alot when i get really nervous.
I know! I do the same thing and my damn phone kept ringing, people sending emails, and they know better than to bother me when I'm watching sports.
