If we need to stop the run and go one on one against the pass, then play Clayton on defense against Auburn.

clayton has practiced as a safety not a one-on-one man corner....he doesn't have the fundmentals to be more efficient than prude, gay, or daniels

Whose place would he take on defense?

Yes. He should start at S and just come in on passing downs at WR to rest him. Give him the night off from special teams for this game. Then, if we get the game in hand, take him off the defense. The whole key to this game seems to be shutting down their run and getting ours rolling. They are like a more talented South Carolina. If we lose this game, we will not make Atlanta. They will be undefeated with three SEC games left and the tie-breaker. We will have two SEC losses and have to overcome the tiebreaker.

Not unless absolutely needed. Playing Clayton on offense, defense, and special teams is risking him to injury. We're going to need him at WR all the way this season.

what's the deal with Clayton? He has been almost invisible on the stat sheet the last few games . .

We don't have a good enough passing quarterback to take advantage of Clayton on offense. In this game, we need to prove we can run to open up the pass. Mauck is better than Randall, but Mauck is not a very good passer. Run Down the Alley (Broussard)
