We just completed our "Easiest Road TO the BCS Championship" contest. The 2006 winner is: ... drumroll, please... Oklahoma. Cal finished second. Won't that be an exciting game????? Man, all the Sooners have to do is take out Oregon, then Texas and they're home free. Ah, to be in the Big 12! The word "cakewalk", btw, comes from slavery, as does "takes the cake" and "piece of cake"... as it was a custom on many plantations to have a day where the slaves were able to mock their owners. Part of the "festivities" was a line dance of sorts, the winners rewarded with a piece of cake. Ah, the educational value of these forums. Amazing, ain't it? Who would you guys pick?
I havent looked at many teams schedules but west virginia. They are going to be ranked top 10 preseason and their toughest game is against Louisville?... Sounds like it sound be a cakewalk.
Hawker, we can always count on you to give us some interesting tidbit of information we didn't even know we wanted to know. Keep up the good work!:thumb:
Yes, West Virginia was mentioned often. The general thinking being God would intervene before letting a Big East team... "The New Mid-Major Conference"... get to the final game.
West Virginia easily has the easiest schedule to get there, however they have a tough road to get there because their conference will not get respect. Generally, any team from the Big 12 always has the easiest route there, because their conference gets too much respect despite the mediocrity it so emcompassingly includes. However, this coming season both OU & UT have good one very good OOC opponent - so it won't be as easy for OU as it was the past few years.
