Good job Casey! Thanks for sharing with the board. I am not picky about grammer, so I just enjoyed the read! It will be interesting the next few years to hear about your interviews with top athletes and coaches.
Take it from someone who has worked with publishers for decades . . . there is a major difference between a true editor and a simple proofreader, but many people fail to distinguish it. Some proofreaders call themselves editors to add to the confusion. Too much published copy is competently proofread but goes completely unedited.
I agree... but at the same time, as a college student, if my editor tells me it is finished and I can turn it in, I won't fight with him and tell him to read it again
Not really, there's a huge difference between spelling and grammar. I never claimed to be able to spell worth a damn. Besides, that's what spell checker is for .
I know, I just wanted to rib you a little. Seriously though, how can improper grammar bother you so much, but spelling doesn't?
Good question. When people speak they don't spell out the words. They do, however, have to use grammar (or they should anyway). If you can't write well, chances are you won't sound very intelligent when you open your mouth. Also, it would be very hypocritical of me to call people out on spelling when I often make mistakes there too. Spelling is more a matter of being lazy and not concentrating.
You are Skip Bayless-in training. :hihi: Pretty danged good first attempt. Good luck with your efforts. Enjoyed reading.:thumb:
