That does clear it up. There were some saying that LSU could somehow get in with a three way tie, but it appears that is not possible.

Ok but I think since we win out that Auburn suffers from losing a game towards the end of the season and we go.

Not exactly. Who Auburn and Arkansas loses to is important. The 3rd tie-breaker rule is division record. Assuming LSU wins out, we'll be 4-1 in the division. Ark has USC, UT and MSU left. Ark won't lose to MSU, so they'll be 4-1. It'll come down to who beats Auburn, Georgia or Bama. A Bama loss would be better since that would give Auburn a 3-2 division record.

In that scenario, Auburn would be eliminated and LSU would go to the SECCG b/c we beat Ark. If Georgia beats Auburn, then it'll probably come down to BCS ranking and we have no shot of jumping ahead of a 2 loss Auburn.

It doesn't matter who beats who. If LSU wins out with two losses in the SEC and Auburn has three losses in the SEC andddd The Hogs have 2 losses in the SEC we win the west. It matters not who the losses are to. We have to remember if LSU wins out we have the tie breaker against the Hogs. Auburn has to have 3 losses. They hold the tie breaker over us if we both finish with 2 losses. No matter what we did against common opponents.

Auburn has to lose 2 more games.
The Hogs have to lose 2. Remember LSU wins out.

No, Auburn only has to lose one more game: To Bama...

Arkansas has to lose to one other SEC team.

The third tiebreaker rule states that the team with the best divisonal record represents the West.

    AU 3-2
    Ark 4-1
    LSU 4-1

LSU has the two-team tiebreaker because we would have beat them in head to head.

Basically, we have to win out, and Bama can't get the thumb.
