I didn't see this, luckily, but I heard from my sister that the crew of Holtz, May and flipmo kept saying that the Rose Bowl would pick Notre Dame to face Michigan in a rematch for the Rose Bowl. They said the game was not nearly as bad as the score indicated between USC and Notre Dame. I am not gonna say a damn thing, I'll just let you guys do it. I am too pissed to type my opinion out.
I hope they get two new guys on ESPN next season. IMO, ABC has the best crew with Saunders, Flutie, and I forgot the other guys name.
Corso went on to say, "Notre Dame will probably be selected by the Rose Bowl by default because, who else is left?" Fowler responded with "What about Florida if they lose the SEC Championship?" Corso only muttered, "no, no, just no".
Craig James is on ABC. He's always irritated me though. He'd always go on these rants about how the computers are ruinning the BCS, and then back it up with false, completely uneducated information. You may want to read this: http://www.cfrc.com/Ratings_2006/Letter.htm It was linked from Richard Billingsley's homepage.
what do you expect - Notre Dame is a ratings magnet for some odd reason...and the only BCS bowl game ABC/ESPN has is the Rose....it is all about ratings kids. The only honest person on that entire crew is Fowler - but ESPN will likely not let him write another column like the one earlier in the season about how Gameday is influenced not by the best game anymore, but instead the best game showing on ABC/ESPN that weekend.
Herbstreit actually said that ND should go to the Rose Bowl because of Knute Rockne and the four horsemen. Could he have said anything more crazy and out of whack? Maybe Auburn should play in the national championship game because they went undefeated a couple of years ago.:dis: :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis: Or hey how about Bama in the BCS they have like 45 national championships in the past sounds like that carries weight forever using herbie's logic.
USC didn't really impress me offensively and ND was just plain AWFUL. BQ looked like a sack of you know what, but it may have had a lot to do with USC's defense. Those guys have really impressed me the last few weeks. However, I still think a good team (or atleast a ND team that simply tried) would have beaten SC last night. It'll be tough for UCLA to come up with enough offense to pull an upset; especially with Cowan or Olson at QB. I'd really like our chances against either SC or ND.
