So, if USC would happen to be upset by UCLA on Saturday, why would it be a good thing for Arkansas to beat Florida from LSU's perspective?

"That's what the BCS people I've talked to have told me. What I'm told is we're either going to the Rose or to the Orange Bowl." http://www.shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061125/SPORTS0202/611250316/1028 Here are a few articles with Skip Bertman talking about meeting and talking to bowl officials.
I think the Rose will take us. We've never been, plus there is a great storyline with Michigan (Miles playing his alma mater; LSU and Michigan have never met.) The storyline with USC would be "the match-up that should've been in '03."
Just to be safe LSU finishes in the top 4 of the BCS, which gives LSU an automatic berth. Essentially: 1. Ohio State 2. Michigan 3. USC 4. LSU as opposed to 1. Ohio State 2. Michigan 3. Florida 4. USC 5. LSU The voters might just drop USC to one spot to above us in the polls should they lose in a very close game to UCLA. Sounds crazy, buts its possible. So the Florida loss would assure LSU of being #4.
The SEC CG winner will be tied into the Sugar Bowl. LSU would then be the best team available assuming that Florida would drop below LSU in the polls if Florida were to lose to Arkansas. Florida could even be invited to the Orange Bowl if they lose to Arkansas, but in reality, would probably end up playing Wisconsin. Arkansas is now 10-2 and would drop to 10-3 if they lose to Florida. Arkansas would likely play in the Outback or Cap One. Florida or Arkansas plays ND and LSU plays Michigan.
With Florida losing, Florida cannot be picked by Orange Bowl if the Rose Bowl picked LSU first-----only two teams from the same conference can be in a BCS bowl.
Let me get this straight, if we finish in the top 4 in the BCS poll, we get an automatic bid? If Arkansas beats FL, we should move up to #4? If Florida wins, then LSU almost certainly gets an at-large bid? If this is correct, then how are we not in? Could someone else jump LSU to the 4th spot if Florida loses? Seems to be the only way. Give me a scenario where we don't make it. You da man, bra. Thanks.
