Not sure if this is accurate or not but it's something that I've heard from people close to the ESJ area? Is the coach down there upset over the Miles/Flynn comments from a week or so ago and will it hurt us with Joe? Could be all blah blah and I hope it is. Anyone got anything on this? Thanks.
Miles-Flynn comments???? Why, what did he say?? To my knowledege, CLM only said Flynn appears to be the starter!! Hell yeah, he should appear as the starter, the guy's a FIFTH year SENIOR!! Is that something upsetting??
I don't remember his exact words but, in effect, that's how what he said was interpreted but the discussion has been that it wasn't what he meant. I was funnin with you because for him to say that wouldn't be a good thing. That's why I put "Only" in bold. :thumb:
Well, as a coach, I never looked at classification, who their parents were, etc. I always played the kids who'd get it done. No doubt in my mind Flynn can and feel confident RP can to- won't touch that one; however, coaches want to avoid those kind of statements at this time of the year. For example: If that were to be the case, how hard would RP work knowing the position was sewn up?? Or let's say it had already been decided without a "Competition" and giving RP at least a chance- see the potential for a crack in the armor? Coaches want to be uniters......not dividers. It would serve no purpose to declare it now- at least imo. :thumb:
I agree with you that he shouldnt have mentioned that. But he was just telling the board not to worry about the QB controversy because it "appears" to Miles that Flynn is doing better in practices, so he will probably start if he can still play better than RP in the spring practices. CM said that the competition is still on, and no QB has been approved as the starter, so the position is still wide open. How harmful could that be? I would love to see RP show his skills but I cant also deny someone who has been in the shadows of a phenomenal first pick QB for all his years at LSU, and then not give him a shot in his final year. RP is still a freshman, and will get to play for his junior and senior year, but if he is much better than Flynn, I have no doubt that Miles will appoint him as the starter, and let Flynn share some duties like he did this year, otherwise it is going to be the opposite.
