New Wide Receivers Coach?

Anyone got any ideas about who the new wide receivers coach should be? Here are some possibles I have come up with.

Sonny Dykes. OC/WR coach at Texas Tech. As some of you may recall, I listed Dykes as a good possibility for our new OC. Under Dykes TT's receiving corps has established 20 school receiving records in addition to setting conference records. TT has also set single-season TD reception records. But Dykes would be a long shot. I don't see him leaving TT for anything short of an OC position, if not a HC job.

Brian Rock, WR coach at Purdue. This was his first year at Purdue. Previously he coach WRs at W. Michigan from 1997-2004. Under him, W. Michigan ranked 8th nationally in pass offense. In 2003 he had two of his receivers gain 1,000 yards or more. He is widely regarded for his innovations and has authored several articles on football strategy, including one in 2005 on red zone offensive strategy.

Andy Hill, WR coach at Missouri. Hill tutored, among others, Sean Coffey. Three of his receivers are on Missouri's top 12 all-time list. Eleven of his receivers have gone over 100 yards per game. Hill is in his 10th year at Missouri.

I also looked at New Mexico State, UTEP, Hawaii and Louisville. New Mexico State and UTEP had no staff listings. The WR coach at Hawaii is a local guy who has never been off the islands and probably would not want to leave. Louisville's WR coach is also its 1st year OC. Like Sykes, it is doubful that he would leave Louisville for anything less than an OC position. Rock seems like the best of the lot who might be willing to come to LSU. Anyone have any other ideas?

I dont know, the second one looks good, but I dont think he'll be leaving after only 1 season. But I do hope that we can snap ne from the pros.

Terry Robiskie would be a very strong candidate for the job if he wanted to coach at the college level.

He might like to coach at the college level, but I think it would take something more than a WR coaching position to lure him away from the NFL.

I know. It would be a longshot to get him but he does have strong LSU connections so who knows.

I didn't even know we had one that could leave. HC, OC's and DC's are teh only ones I keep up with.

It was announced on Thursday that wide receiver coach Todd Monkens has accepted a similar position with Jacksonville of the NFL. :thumb:

How about whoever was Marques Colston's receivers coach at Hofstra? Colston credited him with his development, and think what he can do with SEC caliber talent...
