I think he saw how far down the totem poll his position slid when Saban was given the moon and the stars over Bama. He was going to get scraps for the next few years in terms of operational needs.

 

Operational needs? You have to realize the $ for Saban's contract isn't going to pull a thing from other programs. In fact, the entire contract could be paid off in July just from the monies held in escrow from the probation years...

Again, it has NOTHING to do with the Ath. Dept...and, further than that, it's simply not something that needs to be speculated on in the public forums.

Those crimson glasses have blinded you Terry. I always look at outsiders views of a situation and sometimes those ideas or opinions are spot on whether it be sports, hurricane recovery or a war in the Middle East. I'm not saying I'm right and we may never have the answer but the smoke is there.

Your fixation on Saban is incredible. I'm curious, were you saying the same things when we hired him? Have you forgotten that we paid him millions more than any previous head football coach? Did you forget the millions of dollars Emmert committed to the football facilities when Saban was hired?

Did it hurt morale at LSU? I think you're grasping at straws b/c your pissed Saban ended up at Bama. Money at Bama is not a problem. Meddling Bama alums with unreal expectations is a problem.

 

Blinded? No. All I'm saying is if Jim doesn't want this situation in the public eye I'm not going to put it there.
