Kicking off from the 30, will LSU kick or receive tonight if they win the toss???

With our defense being so dominant we many times elect to go on defense first after winning the coin flip to pen the other team deep and have good field position after they punt. With now kicking off from the 30 yard line which choice will LSU make tonight if it wins the toss?

I think LSU will receive the kickoff because of our speed on on offense?
Does anyone know anything about the MSU kickers? Do they have a kicker who can kick it deep?

Yeah, I'd have to say its almost a certainty that we will be on defense first. If we win teh toss Miles will most likely defer. And if MSU wins they will want the ball with the hopes to get up early.

If we win the toss, we'll kick. I'd be surprised if it were otherwise.

We'll kick. Miles noted that, in the NFL, they kick off from the 30 and most elect to go on Defense first (He said this during the Les Miles Show last week I think). I would be very surprised if he elects to receive.

Kick it off, three & out, fair catch, get the ball around the 40... Seems like a game plan to me!

Good point. I just don't know how many times MSU will kick off tonight if you know what I mean. I really want to see our speed on kick off returns.

i can't remember the name of our kickoff kicker (jasper maybe) but he's been sending them to the goal line in practice. against state, we'll kick. i just hope we don't kickoff twice like we did against state a few years back. (like it matters)

LSU owns the first quarter so I would say take the ball but since we have a "New" QB, send out the D and let the game get started and let him settle in.

We use this approach a lot in softball, we take visitors even if we when the toss. Sometimes we don't even toss, we'll ask the opposing coach(es) if they'd like to be home and they invariably say yes so we tell them we'll take V. We don't have to send out our pitcher to start off and let her get into the flow and hopefully a couple of runs.

Each team gets to bat/play D the same # of times (Excluding a mercy rule) and I never like to be in the position of having to score a run in the last inning to win a game.

Especially with 8U where there's a 4 run limit, we'd bat first, get our 4 runs and the other team was deflated and playing "Catch up" right off the "Bat". Coaches started picking up on it though.

Anyway, again, let the game start and Flynn get some butterflies out before running out there. I know he'll be relatively calm and all and he's shown a lot of confidence and leadership in his words to the media to now but he knows the questions around him and the fate of our team resting a lot on his shoulders.........he's going to take us to the promise land.
