I am not advocating turning the offense over to Perrilloux right now. Flynn has certainly done enough to remain the starter. But somewhere down the line, depending on how things go...

Hopefully, Flynn plays great against VA Tech and the rest of the way. That's my hope. But I can't help having doubts. Those are based on what I have observed in his game. I can't help but think that Perrilloux's immense talent will be needed to navigate the SEC. We'll see.

PS - I am heartbroken every time LSU loses.

PPS - I need to go to bed.

The way I view Flynn's performance is simple:

    12 of 19....130 yards....2 TD's....ZERO turnovers

We have enough talent spread out all over this team that we DON'T NEED one player to carry us and we don't need the QB to HAVE to play flawless, we just need him to manage the game, be efficient and not turn the ball over.

In a downpour for most of the 2nd quarter and some of the first half, I thought Flynn did well.

Remember, everyone that has been wanting Flynn to be the starter for the past 2 seasons said that it was because "Flynn was in the Matt Mauck mold"...well, Mauck had games where he didn't have to break 200 yards passing for us to come away with a win.

I also think Flynn was a bit nervous in his second start, and first start as the #1 QB. The OL was far from perfect and MooU fielded what I believe has accurately been described as at least an average SEC defense (which is saying something). It was raining, and we were away from home amidst a cacophony of cow bells. We have a new OC and new WRs. I expect Flynn to improve significantly over the season, and has been pointed out, he mostly made good decisions throwing the ball (except he may have held on too long sometimes, not seen the field well enough as the game was probably really fast for him, and shown a tendency to truck it too soon, though the pressure from MooU played a significant part in rattling him).

On the other hand, when Perilloux came in the game was decided, the cowbells were tired, and he didn't have the pressure of being the man. That is way too little an amount of information to base a call for change on. Give the guy time. I don't think it is unreasonable to be a little nervous, but I think that is the best the passing game at LSU has to offer us at this point (bear in mind that having a new stable of WRs plays a significant role in the play of the QB, as does a less than solid line).
