Advocate staff report Published: Aug 31, 2007 STARKVILLE, Miss. — LSU fans who would like to see ESPN bring its popular College GameDay program to Baton Rouge on Sept. 8 for the Virginia Tech game have to do something that’s not too difficult for many Tigers supporters: pull for Notre Dame to lose. A Notre Dame victory Saturday over Georgia Tech would probably send College GameDay to the Sept. 8 Notre Dame-at-Penn State game, according to ESPN spokesman Michael Humes. If not, the Virginia Tech-LSU game would be at the top of ESPN’s wish list. So, if you want to ogle Kirk Herbstreit and boo Lee Corso, “become a Georgia Tech fan,” Humes said. Kickoff for the Virginia Tech game is set for 8:15 p.m. on ESPN.:thumb: :thumb:
Gameday should absolutely be at LSU next week. It's simply the premier game of the week. ESPN just couldn't wait, though, to go and exploit the VT tragedy, so they had to go there this week. I hope they are in Baton Rouge. Wouldn't it be a most fitting way to introduce Mike VI to Tiger football and the whole world?
I would love for it to happen (with my wife due to deliver our first child in early Nov., the VT game is the only game that I'll be able to make this season). But I thought ESPN said they didn't like covering the same team unless it was a situation where they cover them at the beginning of the season and then at the end?? ...but I wouldn't argue if they change their minds. Gonna be a LOT of excitement in Tiger town next weekend: home opener, #2 vs #7 (possibly 6th or 5th); new tiger....LOTS of excitement!
I don't know. We would have to hear about VT ad-nauseum. At least I would be at the game and not have to watch. I mean I got tired of the Katrina references every game LSU played on TV...and they STILL do it.
